About the Inn
Few restaurants in the entire Philadelphia area surpass the Dilworthtown Inn in quality and consistency. Since 1780 this renowned gathering place has offered warm hospitality that is as welcoming as a hearty handshake. The candlelit atmosphere, roaring fireplaces and exceptional, imaginative American cuisine make Dilworthtown one of the most popular destinations for diners who appreciate the fine details. Every aspect of your visit from appetizer to after-dinner drinks is finely tuned to perfection by proprietors Jim Barnes and Bob Rafetto.

The Zagat Survey appreciated Dilworthtown's "warm and cozy colonial atmosphere, fine antiques and gas lamps" and raved that the 900 bottle wine list is "fabulous". The Romac Report was equally enthusiastic... "Excellent, excellent, excellent" read the reviews of the "elegant, lovely Country Inn", and Wine Spectator Magazine has awarded the Dilworthtown Inn its award of excellence for 10 years. Visitors to the Dilworthtown Inn savor the finest cuisine and genuine hospitality in an atmosphere steeped in history. The Inn itself dates back to 1754, when James Dilworth built it as additional space for his large family. His son Charles applied for a tavern license in 1780 and began a tradition of hospitality that continues to this day. Visit our Legends and Lore section for more historical information. Each of the Inn's three floors and fifteen rooms had been lovingly restored to their original charm, providing the perfect setting for a romantic dinner, dignified business gathering or wedding celebration. From the wide windowsills to the plaster walls and walk-in fireplaces, this is a setting that recalls gentler times and familiar laughter - a setting that makes every event something special.

The Dilworthtown Inn is a place to savor incredible tastes, welcoming smiles and the most memorable moments of your life.
